About Scottish Hazards The hazards facing people in their everyday working lives are ever changing.
As new processes and materials emerge new health problems develop. There is a
need to continually monitor these developments, to actively campaign for safer
and healthier workplaces, and to ensure improved health and safety legislation
and more effective enforcement by the HSE and Local Authorities. The Scottish Hazards Campaign Group was inaugurated on 1st August 1993. It is
a network of individuals and organizations interested and involved in workplace
health. It includes trade union branches, trade union health and safety
representatives and officials, safety officers, occupational health
professionals, specific campaigns, e.g. RSI and Asbestos, as well as local
councilors and community groups. The Aims of the Group: The Scottish Hazards Campaign Group acts as a focal point in Scotland for
those committed to improving workplace health and safety. Activities
include: The Scottish Hazards Campaign Group is grateful to the STUC for its continued
support and to individual affiliates for their commitment to the Hazards
movement. UK Hazards Campaign is a national network established in 1988. It draws
together Hazards Centres, Occupational Health Projects, Health and Safety Groups
and Trade Union Council’s Safety Committees, specific campaigns and individual
health and safety activists. European Work Hazards Network is a network of national networks with the
shared aim of improving working conditions in Europe and the rest of the world.
It includes networks in Austria, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany,
Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Scotland and Spain. It links
with similar networks in Eastern Europe, East Asia, Southern Africa, South and
